Who we are, what we do, and why it matters

Gukin is a union of university students and graduates who share a commitment to giving and growth. Around 50 new members join as one cohort each year, and across 23 years of history, the community now spans 23 cohorts. Internally, we run four divisions: domestic mentoring, global mentoring, internal coordination, and arts & media.

Education volunteering is at the core of Gukin. Global Mentoring, one of our flagship activities, sends Gukin mentors to five Japanese cities (Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Shizuoka) every July and August to volunteer in education for Korean-Japanese students. Domestic training, overseas training in Japan, local projects, career programs, and other activities planned directly by Gukin members carry on throughout the year.

We believe young people grow fastest when they help others, lead one another, and are surrounded by people who believe in them. Gukin gives enthusiastic young people that environment, and a network that supports one another's careers and lives even after university.
